Why We Invested
To help farms across Oahu establish land conservation plans quickly and effectively
The 808 Conservation Planner is a user-friendly, online planning tool that helps Hawaii farmers, ranchers, landowners and agriculture professionals create a conservation plan to protect and improve natural resources on agricultural lands. This tool works to fill a critical need to expedite the submission of quality plans for approval, which allows farmers to get out in the field faster.
Our Partner
Oahu Resource Conservation and Development Council (RC&D) is an independent, non-profit entity that works to improve the quality of life and promote sustainable communities on Oahu through the management and conservation of our precious natural resources and the careful development of rural neighborhoods and businesses.
How We Partnered
Grant support provided through the Ulupono Fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation toward the training of new conservation planners via the University of Wisconsin, as well as the coordination of stakeholders to develop an online interface for Hawaii conservation plan applications.

“The training and this critical tool allows local farmers to streamline the creation, review and approval of conservation plans to ensure they can grow more local food for our communities, sustain their farming operations, and continue to be good stewards of the land for future generations.”
