Noelani Kalipi

Strive to improve the quality of life for the people of Hawaii by working toward sustainable solutions that support and promote locally produced food, renewable energy, clean transportation, and better management of water and waste. – Ulupono Initiative Vision

As executive vice-president for Progression Energy, Noelani Kalipi leads the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. Noelani also owns Kalipi Enterprises, LLC, a consulting firm where she works with clients on strategic planning and community engagement. In addition, she serves as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) for Hawai‘i (East) where she works to enhance and support the relationships and interactions between Army personnel, military families, veterans, and Hawai‘i residents and organizations.

Noelani gained federal policy experience working for U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka in Washington, D.C., and served on active duty in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Apart from Ulupono Initiative, she serves on several other boards, including the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawai‘i Authority, Daniel Kahikina Akaka Family Foundation, Mālama ʻĀina Foundation, and Blue Planet Foundation.

Noelani earned a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and a law degree from George Washington University. She coaches fast-pitch softball and volunteers for various nonprofit organizations during her free time.
