Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture launches Hawai‘i Ag Buzz newsletter

The Hawaiʻi Department of Agriculture (HDOA) recently launched a new e-newsletter called “Hawaiʻi Ag Buzz.” The newsletter informs the state’s agricultural community on critical issues and initiatives. The “Issue Insights” column highlights a challenge impacting the agricultural community. Other sections include a welcome letter from Sharon Hurd, chair of the HDOA, as well as news and policy updates impacting agriculture in Hawaiʻi.

“In 2024, we partnered with the County of Hawaiʻi and other key stakeholders to conduct extensive industry outreach, including offering an online survey that garnered nearly 550 responses,” Chair Hurd said. “This invaluable feedback allowed us to identify the most pressing challenges facing our farmers, ranchers and producers, which the department is addressing via policy and programmatic initiatives. We encourage those interested in agricultural issues to stay in the loop by signing up for our monthly ‘Hawaiʻi Ag Buzz’ newsletter.”
