Meet our ohana: Adam Buote

Adam Buote is a senior analyst on Ulupono Initiative’s investment team, providing due diligence, financial modeling and research support for team members in all four of the organization’s sectors. Before Ulupono Initiative, he served as a corporate finance intern at Servco Pacific, assisting with financial reporting and tax research, and as an audit associate at Accuity LLP, specializing in commercial retail, governmental, insurance and real estate assurance engagement.
“Ulupono Initiative has allowed me to use my accounting and finance skills to responsibly invest in the future of Hawaii and create something meaningful,” Adam said.
Born and raised on Oahu, Adam is a graduate of McKinley High School and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business. Since graduating from UH Manoa, he has earned licenses as a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified management accountant (CMA).
Adam is currently studying to become a CFA Institute Charterholder. He is a member of the Association of Government Accountants Hawaii Chapter and the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii’s Young Professionals Program.
On his days off, he enjoys surfing and bodyboarding on Oahu’s south and east shores.
