FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HONOLULU — Ulupono Initiative today released a statement regarding President Joseph Biden's executive order to rejoin the Paris Agreement.

Murray Clay, president of Ulupono Initiative, said:

“Ulupono Initiative applauds President Biden's executive order bringing our nation back into the global discussion and commitment to action represented by the Paris Agreement. As one of the most geographically isolated places in the world, Hawaii has much to gain from serious consideration of Climate Change, locally as well as nationally. From strengthening local agriculture to pioneering 'Performance-Based Regulation' to accelerate renewable energy innovation and utility efficiency, our local leaders can lead the way by supporting locally produced food, renewable energy, clean transportation, and wise management of freshwater and waste — all less carbon intensive than the status quo.”
