Hawaii Statewide Transportation Plan virtual public meetings scheduled Feb. 17, 18 and 20
Feb 12, 2021

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be holding a series of virtual public meetings on the update of the Hawaii Statewide Transportation Plan on Feb. 17, 18 and 20. The plan will update long-term transportation goals and policies that will shape the future of transportation in Hawaii over the next 25 years.
Hawaii’s ground transportation system alone costs about $21.8 billion annually, including direct and indirect costs. The threat of climate change requires a close look at how major expenditures and investments are reinforcing our already automobile-dominated system and how we may better plan these investments to realize “Hawaii’s Multi-Modal and Inter-Modal Network.”
Ulupono Initiative encourages interested individuals to participate to make sure our state's transportation plan reflects the vision and leadership needed to meet based on transportation, energy, environmental, and other important community goals
