Ibis also receives investment from Hawaii entrepreneur Henk Rogers
Honolulu (March 24, 2015) — Hawaii impact investment firm Ulupono Initiative today announced its $350,000 investment in Ibis Networks to help expand the commercial footprint of its flagship InteliNetwork™ platform launched last October.
Developed by local research and development firm Oceanit, InteliNetwork™ is a secure, scalable platform designed to reduce plug load energy consumption and peak-hour demand for commercial and government facilities. Ibis’ innovative technology provides up-to-the-minute energy use data, along with real-time and automated plug load control, allowing customers to quickly initiate energy efficiency measures and save on their electric bill. Ibis Networks is a 2013 cohort of Hawaii’s Energy Excelerator program.
“Information is key to making smart energy decisions, and we are pleased to support Ibis’ goal to take energy efficiency to a new level in Hawaii and beyond,” said Greg Gaug, vice president of investments for Ulupono Initiative. “This initiative aligns with our mission to reduce Hawaii’s energy dependency on fossil fuels.”
“Ibis Networks is excited about the commercial traction our platform is receiving, including our work with several University of Hawaii campuses,” said Michael Pfeffer, CEO of Ibis Networks. “Ulupono Initiative’s investment, as well as an additional grant we received from the Energy Excelerator, will help us ‘move the needle’ and make Hawaii a greener place to live and do business.”
