Kyle Datta is the general partner of Honolulu-based investment firm Ulupono Initiative. In his role, he is responsible for developing partnerships with stakeholders, policy makers and community organizations.
Prior to joining Ulupono, the Yale graduate held several high-ranking positions in the energy sector. They included CEO of the U.S. Biodiesel Group; managing director of research and consulting at the Rocky Mountain Institute; and vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he served as managing director of the Asia energy practice and the U.S. utility practice.
Last week, the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority announced that Datta will be part of a new 11-member advisory council, called the Transformation Advisory Council, which is tasked with providing expert advice on the U.S. territory’s energy future following the devastation left by Hurricane Maria.
